This should be used to denote questions pertaining specifically to sites running on the Magento Enterprise Edition platform. They need not be EE specific features.

Why in Magento EE the DOB and Gender configuration are "disabled"?
Go to System -> Configuration -> Customer -> Customer Configuration -> Name and Address Options
Now you need to change Show date of Birth from Optional to Required. Same has to do with gender.
