Without changing anything my checkout now redirects to the cart page.

It happens after selecting the payment method. When i click on the order now button and it redirects me to the cart .

I have the following settings at my admin panel

in system -> sales -> checkout "allow guest checkout" set to "yes"

I don't know why it happens and the strange thing it is that the order is taken by Magento, but the order mail it is not sent.

Do you know why it would happen something like that? the logs do not tell anything about that?

I had the same problem some days ago. I had an echo "." under index.php. Can you check if you have something in your index.php that is unnecessary ?

If it is not relating to this, set Magento to developer mode, by adding this code in index.php

Mage::setIsDeveloperMode(true);
ini_set('display_errors', 1);

Check your logs under var/log/system.log and var/log/exception.log if there is any error relating to that.
