I'm setting up products and tier prices in Magento, but I've noticed that a in Simple Product with Custom Options (example: blue t-shirt, red t-shirt), the Tier Price won't work if we combine them to reach the quantity.

Tier Prices seem to work only when the quantity is reached from one product variation, but not a combination of two.

I've read several answers on Stack Overflow and the Magento forums, and they recommend to create configurable products. However this can be pretty hard if a store has lots of products, or lots of variations.

Do you know some workaround to get the Tier Price apply - with a combination of variations?

Thanks,

Custom Options and Tier Price (Discount by Quantity)

Currently, if our Simple Product has Custom Options (example: colors), they won't be used by the Tier Price if they are combined.

Tier Prices seem to work only when the quantity is reached from the same product variation.

Currently, when we useif our Simple Products, we have a limitation with the Tier Prices (the classic discount by quantity).

If a Product has Custom Options, the Tier Price will apply only if the customer hits the discount quantity for the same variation. And, strangely enough(example: colors), the systemthey won't applybe used by the discountTier Price if the quantity is reached combining two or more variations of the productthey are combined.

For example, we have a Pencil that can be Red or Bue. If you buy 5 or more, there's a discount. When people addedTier Prices seem to work only when the cart 2 blues and 3 redsquantity is reached from the discount would never apply, because it only would if they picked 5 reds, or 5 bluessame product variation.

I've read several answers on Stack Overflow and the Magento forums, where they recommend to create configurable products insteadso the Tier Price computes two variations, but this can be really a no-go and a burdensome way to take if a store has lots of products, or the products have severallots of variations, like sizes and colors etc.

So, doDo you know if there's a workaround to get the Tier Price apply with a combination of product's variations?
