Neither documentation nor the tutorial you're following mentions that you need to rename package.json.samplepackage.json.sample and Gruntfile.js.sampleGruntfile.js.sample to package.jsonpackage.json and Gruntfile.jsGruntfile.js respectively. Rename these two files and run npm installnpm install and npm updatenpm update.
