Well, I'm not going to go all social media/self-promotion on you here... So, to make a long story really short, I've been coding since I was 12, on an 8-bit Atari system. I jumped into coding with reasonably recent languages at about age 15 (very rudimentary, at this point, of course). I delved into system/network admin tasks much deeper, at this point. I was using Linux at this age, and never really even wanted a dedicated Windows/DOS machine. Actually used Minix for awhile, instead of DOS, when I was on an original 4.77MHz 8088 machine (which didn't meet Linux's minimum requirements).
I've worked for a couple of years in the IT field as a signed employee. Quite a bit on my own, freelancing, also. Now that I've moved to Portland (and I've finally got a degree in IT & Mathematics [though it's just an AS]), I'm going to try to get back into the field professionally. North Dakota wasn't such a good place for it.
I'm into scripting for automated admin tasks, trying to learn things well enough for encryption work, and coding for anything for extending my BBS interface and internals to doing animation work. Guess I like to keep my fingers in pretty much everything; no kernel internals yet, though. ;)
Looking forward to discussing things on here.
