To get the import to work I've resorted to exporting the csv using pipe (| ) separated fields in OpenOffice for Mac. You will need to change the Field separator from comma to pipe on the import page in Magento 2.

This error is due The store views code that I have added in my CSV files are in wrong order or doesn't match with the store view codes presented. Please try exporting the file and reimporing that file as it as changing the material that worked for me.
I think the problem with just catalog* is that the Magento catalog uses EAV and needs other tables like eav_attribute_*.
