Add Images in Magento Theme template file

I'm afraid you don't need to create new classes for resizing your images, since Magento helpers already have it (see \Magento\Catalog\Helper\Image::resize).

I've achieved this when you save the image append your path before image name.
For Ex. imagename.jpeg is image name then save it is like {yourfolder}/imagename.jpg

Ui form: Edit functionality: Image Preview in magento 2
to be able to preview your image you need to add this key/value 'type' => 'image' in your sending data. Otherwise Magento will consider the file as document.
