I have struggled to apply this patch for a few days now. Yesterday was the closest I have come to completing the patch. I still get the notice "ERROR: Patch can't be applied/reverted successfully."

Here is what Putty returns:

Checking if patch can be applied/reverted successfully...
ERROR: Patch can't be applied/reverted successfully.

If it has been applied, what are the next steps I should take? I've cleared the cache yet "Enable Admin routing compatibility mode" does not appear where it should.

Any ideas?

  • try adding the file .htaccess in dev/tests/functional and rerun the patch, it appears the patch wants to delete that file

  • you just download all patches which are all available in your version then run your site. Plz try your demo environment

Try to remove the dev/tests/functional/.htaccess from your patch stack / stash and apply the patch then.

It seems natural to me that a patch cannot be applied successfully if you skip a file.

Actually, I just figured it out. I downloaded a stock 1.9.2.1 Magento directory and my system was missing the dev file completely.

The person my company hired to set up their Magento didn't do a great job, and they did a 'custom' install making these things very difficult to do.

The patch applied successfully and the "Enable Admin routing compatibility mode" is visible on the backend.
