Having issues while installing the SUPEE 6788 patch.

First issue was I was using a custom edited .htaccess file. I've now replaced with the stock version for 1.9.2.1 but still getting errors as seen below:

root@cloud [/home/--removed--/public_html]# bash PATCH_SUPEE-6788_CE_1.9.2.1_v1-2015-10-26-11-38-41.sh

You are missing the file 'dev/tests/functional/.htaccess'

In order to make the patch finish, you need to have that file (with it's data from 1.9.2.1) so that it can delete it. Weird, I know.

  • Strange why would i be missing that file ? ill try add it now – Marc Smith Oct 28 '15 at 15:10
  • Strange ive just checked the stock 1.9.2.1 files and indeed there is a dev folder that somehow isnt on my server, im just uploading the files now and will retry the patch ! Thankyou so much – Marc Smith Oct 28 '15 at 15:11
  • The dev folder has been added for creating a development testing environment for Magento. It probably was removed after installation as extraneous server filler, much like some admins will remove the downloader folder from live servers for security reasons. – Fiasco Labs Oct 29 '15 at 14:25
