  • what is your action url? – Amit Bera Sep 25 '15 at 7:16
  • namespace Xanka\Slider\Controller\Adminhtml\Slideshow; class Save extends \Xanka\Slider\Controller\Adminhtml\Slideshow – xanka Sep 25 '15 at 7:18

For admin form submissions you have to use form_key or else it will not save the data and it'll redirect to the dashboard page.

For Magento 1.x :

<input type="hidden" name="form_key" value="<?php echo Mage::getSingleton('core/session')->getFormKey(); ?>" />

Thanks to @xanka

Edit:

For Magento 2 :

<input type="hidden" name="form_key" value="<?php echo $this->getFormKey(); ?>" />

Add this code inside your form.
