Magento product price not showing on catalog_product/edit page

Question

I am inserting a simple product programmatically.

the price is displaying on the grid but not on the (admin)form when I try to edit the product price. it is displaying as zero

If you are doing this on the frontend (or in an sql/data install) you must initialize the Magento app as Admin, if you have flat_catalog option enabled on your store, maybe you are saving this data to: catalog_flat_{store_id} table and not in EAV tables, you should set the store_id too.

BTW Check reindex too.
