I'm using Magento2, Hyva-Theme.
I was working on catalog_category_view.xml and I came across this problem:
If I reach catalog_category_view.xml page I wanna see first all the subcategories linked to the category I've clicked on.
Then once navigating to one of that subcategories, I wanna see the products associated to that same subcategory.
The problem is that both pages (the primary categories one and the subcategories) are handled by catalog_category_view.xml. But I need 1column layout in the first one and 2columns-left layout on the other one (the one with products).
If I try to change the layout from here nothing changes, even from Admin -> Catalog -> Categories -> Design there's no way to change the layout.

So I discovered that there's another theme (a Porto theme), and changing the catalog_category_view.xml layout there I resolved the problem, but just locally. In stage the problem still remains.
However for managing subcategories I'm using Apptrian.
