Is it possible to remove fields from the search_request, namely the _search and also replace the fields in the partial search. Adding a search_request file to a custom module only appears to merge with the existing ones, unless I am missing something.
Why Magento hides this outside of the config settings is beyond me. Maybe something to put to the dev team :)
If it is impossible to remove fields (or queries) then maybe someone could point me in the right direction to replace the 'quick_search_container' query with a custom one where I can declare my own queries and fields.
Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated.
