Is there any way we can install magento 2.4 install on Mac OS ?
- Use MAMP in mac for Magento 2.
- You can try docker method also.
I assume by you saying that it is "a paid software", you are referring to Magento Cloud version (aka now called Adobe Commerce), and not the open-source version.
I'd like to reiterate what @mahesh-v said by using Docker. We've been using it at our company for both the open source and cloud versions and it's been working great.
I'm a fan of using Docker vs. installing things directly into macOS simply to keep the system running as clean as possible.
Mark Shust is a fantastic resource that helped me immensely when I first started building out our sandboxes. The GitHub link also has a link to an M.Academy video set that is very helpful as well.
Hope this helps!
Hi, I followed: https://www.dckap.com/blog/how-to-install-magento-2-on-macbook/
But when I get as far as ElasticSearch, it runs and seems to complete successfully but when I try to access http://localhost:9200 I get nothing?
When I get to Step 7: Here we going to set up Magento 2. and try to run command
/Applications/MAMP/bin/php/php7.4.16/bin/php -dmemory_limit=5G /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/magento2/bin/magento setup:install –backend-frontname=”admin” –db-host=”localhost” –db-name=”magento” –db-user=”root” –db-password=”root” –language=”en_US” –currency=”USD” –base-url=”http://localhost/dckap/” –admin-user=”admin” –admin-password=”root@123″ –admin-email=”firstname.lastname@example.org” –admin-firstname=”admin” –admin-lastname=”user”
It does not work? I changed admin email and base-url and PHP version as I use 7.4.20
