Magento 2.4.1 Get allowed countries country code and name programmatically

Question

We need to create a frontend option list of allowed countries within Magento 2.4.1. I tried this solution: https://magento.stackexchange.com/a/200368/80960 but this only return the country code. We need the full name and code returned.
