I'm getting error messages when trying to update my magento installation via the admin panel. admin panel wizard

When I log on to my server and give the command crontab -l the only 1 listed is MAILTO="".

The magento documentation states that the output should be

* * * * * /usr/bin/php /var/www/html/magento2/bin/magento cron:run 2>&1 | grep -v "Ran jobs by schedule" >> /var/www/html/magento2/var/log/magento.cron.log
* * * * * /usr/bin/php /var/www/html/magento2/update/cron.php >> /var/www/html/magento2/var/log/update.cron.log
* * * * * /usr/bin/php /var/www/html/magento2/bin/magento setup:cron:run >> /var/www/html/magento2/var/log/setup.cron.log
#~ MAGENTO END c5f9e5ed71cceaabc4d4fd9b3e827a2b

I then run php bin/magento crontab:install -f but this doesn't change the output from MAILTO=""

  • You must add your cron job to your server. Magento doesn't auto create it. Nov 13, 2019 at 9:21
  • I'm logged in as user. I don't think I have root privileges. For example with the command crontab -u <Magento file system owner name> -l outputs must be privileged to use -u
