The last month our shop www.sinful.eu (which has 5 multiple shops), has been experiencing double tax issues. We have over the last month had this issue 3 times. The problem is solved doing the following:

  1. OP Cache flush

  2. Magento cache flush

  3. Server reboot

The double tax applies as customers add products to the basket. Nothing seems to trig this issue, as it has appeared even on days we haven't been at work.

Our Tax calculation is setup like this:

  • Tax Calculation Method Based On: Total

  • Tax Calculation Based On: Shipping address

  • Catalog prices: including tax

  • Shipping prices: Including tax

  • Klarna invoice fee prices: Including tax

  • Apply customer tax: Before discount

  • Apply discount on prices: Including tax

  • Apply tax on: Customer price if available

  • Enable cross border trade: No

  • Default Country: Denmark

  • Default post code: *

Our Tax classes are setup correct aswell.

  • We had a similar issue looking forward to a solution. – Andreas Therkildsen Feb 19 '19 at 6:43
  • Is there any output in the webserver's error logs, PHP error logs, exception.log & system.log? Could it be that a custom extension is not fully PHP 7.2. compatible? – simonthesorcerer Feb 25 '19 at 7:28
  • @simonthesorcerer sadly i wasn't able to find anything in the PHP error logs, exception or system log. Neither varnish, redis or anything that could make sense. It could possibly be that a custom extension is not fully PHP 7.2 compatible, but 99,99% of the time this error does not happen, thats the weird thing. – Brittany Moore Feb 28 '19 at 8:29
  • @BrittanyMoore, are you using cache extensions like amasty full page cache? If yes, then add the checkout pages to the exception, so that it is not being cached. Also check which products where purchased as the problem happened and inspect the products. Maybe there are some sales rules which are causing this? – Black Feb 28 '19 at 19:03
