I am trying to do a regular import on Magento 1.9.4. I have done a Dataflow import previously but the dataflow import does not handle custom options at all. I am trying to do a regular Import now. I had to delete some rows because they were causing Errors on the Import pre-check. Now I've got it to where there are no Errors whatsoever:

Checked rows: 31720, checked entities: 906, invalid rows: 0, total errors: 0 File is valid!

BUT it just hangs for hours after clicking on the Import button with the:

'Please wait' sign.

I've opened a ticket with the hosting company asking them to:

... increase the max_execution_timeout limit to maximum?

I guess the other things potentially affecting this would be:

  • client_max_body_size on nginx.conf - client_max_body_size 128M; directive
  • too low memory_limit/post_max_size/..

But they claim they don't know what I'm talking about saying everything on the hosting side is fine.

What can I tell them specifically they need to change in order for this import to work?

UPDATED on February 15th, 2019:

I created a ticket with our new hosting company and this is the reply they sent: I have investigated the matter further and It seems to be related to the following error: [15-Feb-2019 02:04:09 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 2147483648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in

/home/oursite/public_html/app/code/core/Mage/Core/Model/File/Validator/Image.php

on line 101 unfortunately, no matter how high I set the memory_limit, this is still not going through, as the actual code just keeps consuming memory without it being able to finish the import. I would like to kindly ask you to review this specific file with your developer, as this is not something that increasing the memory can do, given the fact that the server physically has 8G available and when I set the memory limit to 8G, the application simply allocated all of it and showed the same error.

Is that for reals? A $100/month hosting account does not have enough resources to run a product import of less than 1000 products??

Second UPDATE on February 15th, 2019:

I have first split the file into 2 but the same problem was happening. I split it into 10 files - same issue. I split it into 100 files and when I try to import the first out of 100 files - I get the following Error:

SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1452 Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails (nameOF_database.mg_catalog_product_option_type_title, CONSTRAINT FK_756AD4236A49B4EB717861EAD7C17243 FOREIGN KEY (option_type_id) REFERENCES mg_catalog_product_option_type_value (op), query was: INSERT INTOmg_catalog_product_option_type_title(option_type_id,store_id,title) VALUES (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?), (?, ?, ?) ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATEtitle= VALUES(title`)

Why is this happening? Is it because I already have the products in there and I'm just trying to update them with the custom options? Will I have to delete all products and run the import that way?

UPDATED on February 16th, 2019:

I deleted the following column:

custom_option_store

and divided the file into more than 300 very small files. The first (any) file I import (any from the 300) uploads successfully. When I go to import any 2nd file though, it just comes up with the Please wait sign again that never goes away...
