I'm currently trying to apply rules to the shopping cart in Magento 1.9 but every time we try to apply a condition it it states "please wait" and refreshes back to the dashboard.

The steps I take are as follows

  1. Go to "Promotions" in the top bar
  2. Select "Shopping Cart Price Rules"

enter image description here

  1. Either select an existing rule or choose "Add a new rule"
  2. Once inside the rule menu select "Conditions"
  3. Click the green plus sign in the section marked "Apply the rule only if the following conditions are met (leave blank for all products)"
  4. Select any option from the dropdown

enter image description here

  1. "Please wait loading" text will appear
  2. Magento will jump back to the main dashboard

Having looked at the developer console I can see the following message

Provided I do not try to apply conditions I can save the rule, I cannot apply or change conditions on existing rules either.

I spoke to my security provider about this and they responded that thay checked the waf logs and found many 200, 302, 304, 499 and 404 http codes in the logs, but none of 403. This evidently means waf hasn't blocked any request from the ip address we provided.

I've tried the solution mentioned in Question 236770, (although the pathway in my case was httpdocs/js/mage/adminhtml/rules.js )but this has not worked and the problem is still occurring.

How would I resolve this issue?
