Magento 1: Error 500 after installing attribute

Question

For some reason Magento stopped working after i tried installing a attribute. It doesn't show up in var/log, setting init_set to 1 simply gives me a blank page with no error and changing htacess memory limit doesn't work. Disabling the module gives me another error (Invalid backend model specified: 1). What is causing all this?

Check the web server error log. There are certain scenarios where this is the only place that useful error messages are found.
