I have a problem with my CMS page. I found out that the page is available under two versions:

www.mydomain.co.uk/MyCMSpage

www.mydomain.co.uk/MyCMSpage/

I am not sure why the trailing slash at the end of URL is there. The settings under Admin > CMS > Pages > MyCMSpage > Page Information > URL Key is without the /.

Google sees this as two different pages.

I have two questions:

QUESTION 1: Why is the trailing slash added at the end of the URL?

QUESTION 2: How can I add a canonical link to the better ranking CMS page? Can I add it using the admin panel? Such as adding it in the Admin > CMS > Pages > MyCMSpage > Design > Page Layout?

<link rel="canonical" href="https://www.mydomains.co.uk/MyCMSpage" />

UPDATE:

I managed to add the canonical link to the CMS page from the admin panel using this:

<reference name="head">
    <action method="addLinkRel">
        <rel>canonical</rel>
        <href>https://www.mydomains.co.uk/MyCMSpage</href>
    </action>
</reference>

The problem now is, how can I add this to the page with the / if I can't find it anywhere? 301 redirect will be the solution?
