I'm new to Magento API and actually a python programmer, there are some APIs I should connect to them through Rest and I stick to the first step of authentication with OAuth for getting access tokens and this stuff. Can anyone, please, help me through this in a very clear way. I've got my consumer key and secret and want to connect and use the APIs.

This is a good resource to start

Ant then you can check the list of Magento methods from here:

To understand what method to call in order to retrieve the information.

There's a sample here (thanks to @nyov): https://gist.github.com/nyov/5116258

or Nigel's full example:

  • As I stated I'm looking for solution in REST API but the first link you've provided is on XML-RPC Nov 14, 2017 at 23:46

  • Hi @obsergiu. I saw your update. In Nigel's work the tokens already have values and initiation has been done before and in the nyov's work the python version is 2.7 and when I tried my own by his steps I faced problem at the time of initiation (getting tokens). Actually, I searched through all internet and didn't find any robust solution, so as I stated in the question real experience or robust solution is needed not just a link to some works over internet. • Well, @aLoneStrider, :) :) all of us are searching for qualified help for free, don't we? You came on a magento forum(so why you expect python help?) but you didn't provide anything as what code you used, what is the error you're getting are you able to reach you magento installation. That's why I gave you the links, so you would be able to start, run some tests. If you need help provide more info.
