I am trying to change the default images on products that haven't got an image.

I've uploaded the images within:

Stores > Configuration > Catalog > Catalog > Product Image Placeholders

I've flushed my cache and reindexed and my placeholder image is showing on the category listings but it is still showing the Magento logo default image on the product page?

How can I update this image to my own?

  • Flush Catalog Images Cache in system>Cache Storage Management – Ramesh S Aug 30 '17 at 14:02
  • And remove cache in var\cache folder – Ramesh S Aug 30 '17 at 14:02
  • Hi Ramesh, Thanks for your quick reply :) I've tried the above but still showing the existing image? – heady12 Aug 30 '17 at 14:07
  • Some info here suggest that this feature might have been removed. some reference:magento.stackexchange.com/questions/203905/… – Juliano Vargas Dec 4 '17 at 12:56

=> Follow the below steps for applying product default image :

  • In admin panel, Go to Stores > Settings > Configuration.
  • In admin panel, under Catalog Menu, choose Catalog.
  • Click the Product Image Placeholders section.
  • Click on Choose File to upload the placeholder image. You can use the same or the different images for each role.

Note : Also changed the permissions on /store/pub/media folder from 755 to 777 and refreshed it.
