Please edit the question to limit it to a specific problem with enough detail to identify an adequate answer. Avoid asking multiple distinct questions at once. See the How to Ask page for help clarifying this question. If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

• for future requests -> get into the var/log/reports folder of your magento 2 installation and check the corresponding file (the log record number is the filename) for the real error message. that will at least make for a much clearer question that helps others to find suitable answers – Lemonade May 18 '18 at 8:53

Go to app/etc/env.php then update this:

'db' =>
array (
'table_prefix' => '',
'connection' =>
array (
'default' =>
array (
'host' => 'localhost',
'dbname' => 'database_name',
'username' => 'database_username',
'password' => 'database_password',
'active' => '1',
),
),
),

Go to app/etc/local.xml and set your new password here too:

<default_setup>
<connection>
...
<username><![CDATA[your_user]]></username>
<password><![CDATA[your_password]]></password>
...
• no local.xml file – Amd2030 Aug 7 '17 at 8:49
