I'm trying to figure out how regionUpdater is working on Magento 2. Region Updater is that when you select country, magento reload region field depend on which country was selected.

I went to magento checkout module then saw regionUpdater js file in this path:

\vendor\magento\module-checkout\view\frontend\web\js\region-updater.js

Then I go to browser then try to put some breakpoints to it but I cannot see regionUpdater.js is included. I tried many way to figure out how is working but cannot understand.

My purpose is I'm going to implement cityUpdater function that help magento reload city field based on region field same as regionUpdater.

Can any help me figure out it ?. I really appreciate your help.
