On Stack Exchange, we believe the core moderators should come from the community, and be elected by the community itself through popular vote. We hold regular elections to determine who these community moderators will be.

Community moderators are accorded the highest level of privilege on our community, and should themselves be exemplars of positive behavior and leaders within the community.

Our general criteria for moderators is as follows:

  • patient and fair
  • leads by example
  • shows respect for their fellow community members in their actions and words
  • open to some light but firm moderation to keep the community on track and resolve (hopefully) uncommon disputes and exceptions

Every election has three phases:

  1. Nomination
  2. Primary
  3. Election

Please participate in the moderator elections by voting, and perhaps even by nominating yourself to be a community moderator!

🗺️ For the last couple of years I've been traveling around the globe meeting most of you while maintaining Magento 2 on GitHub as a part of the Community Engineering initiative.

💻 Since Magento 2 is on the rise, this site is becoming more and more active and I'd love to help with the moderation and be around again since here is where it all started.

My 2018 Moderator Election Q&A - Questionnaire

I’m Matt Antley, I have been part of the Magento community for the last 3 years, 2 of them have been signed up to this Stack Exchange. I became extremely active at the beginning of last December (I was hoping to beat Marius as highest rep gain in that month) but suffered an injury that affected my activity over the last few months. I now feel I’m getting back to my old ways and increasing my activity within the community again, for this reason I’d like to nominate myself as moderator.

I also feel like I prompted these elections with my Meta post last year and was aiming to nominate myself if the opportunity came about - Community Moderator Election 2017/2018?

I am Magento certified developer with 3+ years of experience.

I am regularly participate In magento SE activity.

In winterbash2016 I am 2nd heigest hat taker.

I have participated in 1,253 close votes.

I have participated in 1369 Suggested Edits

I have participated 908 Low Quality Posts

I have participated 99 reopen votes.

I have reviewed in 327 first post.

I have reviewed 97 late answeres.

one of the heigest participant in meta site https://magento.meta.stackexchange.com/users

So that's why I participate in Magento SE mod election, SO that I try to make site more clean and invite new user to take equal participation

here is my answers to all questions

2018 Moderator Election Q&A - Questionnaire

I have been dealing with Magento for about 7 years and have learned by far the most here. A year and a half ago I registered because I thought I might be able to answer something useful (and give something back). :)

Since 05/17 I've been online almost every day several times in order to check the current questions, to check reviews, try to anwser some questions etc. ... some "mod stats" ...

When there is time for, i try to contribute to https://github.com/OpenMage/magento-lts/ , so I'm always interessed in know bugs and problems.

Why I've nominated myself? Maybe related to 9th question ... I spend a lot time here ... try to help where I can, but for 10-20k REP (to get same priviliges) it would take another year or more. I like this community and would like to contribute a bit more then I can do now-...
